Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially when trying to lose weight. For this reason you need to make sure not to skip breakfast, or eat an unhealthy breakfast.

Why Not To Skip Breakfast

Skipping breakfast is a very bad idea. You should always eat a relatively big (but healthy) breakfast. When you skip breakfast your metabolism slows down, and you do not burn calories. You will also eat more later in the day. When you eat a good breakfast, you will be able to burn off these calories throughout the day, your metabolism will function faster, and you will eat less later in the day.

The Healthy Breakfast

A healthy breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For this reason you need to make sure to eat right. Make sure your breakfast is not too high in sugars. A bowl of high sugar cereal is not a healthy breakfast. But, eating a bowl of cereal which is low is sugar, but high in protein and fiber, can make for a very good breakfast. Good breakfast items include egg white omelets, fruit, whole wheat toast, whole wheat pancakes, and non fat milk. I even tend to eat vegetables with my breakfast. Just try to incorporate high protein, high fiber foods into your breakfast. The fiber and protein will help keep you full throughout the day and provide you with long lasting energy. But remember to avoid too much sugar. Sugar will only give you an initial boost of energy, and will not keep you going throughout the day.
