Does drinking those 8 cups a day help weight loss? There is no clear cut answer to this. Recently, more and more studies have debunked the myths of the health benefits of water. It was previously proposed that water helped kidney health, and that it even helped skin health; however science is starting to lead us to believe that water does not help either of these.
So, are the claims that water helps weight loss true? It was previously said that water helped suppress appetite, and therefore helped weight loss. However, a recent study indicated that there is “no consistent evidence” that water supresses hunger.
The reason many people think that water is so healthy, is because if you do a search on google, you will find a ton of websites that make water seem like this miraculous medicine that cures everything.
Although, water may not be a magical cure for everything, it certainly is a healthy think to drink, and actually can help you lose weight. Substituting water for other higher calorie drinks definately helps weight loss. Also, sometimes the body mistakes hunger for thirst. On many occasions I have found myself feeling hungry in between meals. Instead of getting a snack, I drank a bottle of water and truly felt much more full. Although water may not be scientifically proven to help suprress hunger, it definately helps me fight my food cravings in between meals.
Water definately can help you lose weight. Although it may not magically suprress your apetitie, it is always a great zero calorie drink.
